In my opinion there are two key points:
(1) if you don't have many visitors to your website (say less than 50 per month) then spend time driving traffice to your website;
(2) If you do have a low level of visitors you must have either a great conversion rate for pay per click adverts, or affiliate adverts (i.e. where you get a sales commission %).
